@Wartower - I actually took multiple pictures of the sheep to get a good one... I have no life... But anyways! Haha. I was holding an axe in one and it was looking at me from the side like I was about to kill it. Ha!

@daydrifter - I'll start working on that Ghast tonight. Haha. Hopefully I can have some pics of a finished one up soon.

@Zyrandar - Actually, that was your grave marker. =P Hahaha.

Update of a 97% complete huge project

amidoinitright?

I fell off accidentally in about the same place Zyrandar did, only a little higher. Haha. How large is that score compared to the norm? Just wondering.

Sunsets shall look rather lovely on the newwwwww....

Sky island. =) You guys like? I hope to have a chain of them one day, each with its own theme of sorts. All I have to do is build a small cottage and my huge project will come to a close and I can start on connecting more islands. =]

Nice! I really like this! It looks very, very cool. Will you be installing a fence around the side? I think that next time I got to play this world I would fall off, many, many times.

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*ahem* sorry - but that "Sky Island" concept is EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!
Amazing stuff bro :)
Like? LIKE?????????!?!??!? I.LOVE.IT.
11018 is a pretty decent score - I think the highest I've ever had was 97000+ But 10000+ is fairly average if you look after yourself and kill a lot of mobs etc.

wahlfjsalfjasl IS THAT WHAT YOU WERE PLANNING? It's so pretty, look at that teeny pond and the trees a nd fllfjalfaj;s. Words, they fail me. A string of themed sky islands, great concept!

Thanks guys! =]

Fences... Hmmm. I may put some up, but I wanted to build more islands before I start doing that because that'll make it seem really small, ya know? So in the end, once everything's done, I'll have a few with fences, and a few natural-looking ones without them. =)

Hurray for decency in scores! Hahaha. Glad you love it, Zyrandar!

Yep, that's what I've been planning. And your random key pressing reminded me of the ghast project.

2012-06-21_183736.png

I still need to work on the body of it shooting, but I have a concept for it. Haha.

I suggest one of the islands be of fantastic cliffs with waterfalls and caves and such. I think most of the island should be covered by overhangs.

yeah - add some stalactites hanging from the bottom of the islands too.

I love my ghasts. =] Haha.

I actually did get a lot of the designs in my head from Skyward Sword, so there will be many waterfall islands and some cliffs and whatnot. Not too sure what you mean about the overhangs, though. Care to explain?

Ehhh, I have the island right now coming out of basically one block and spreading up and out. With the way I built it, doing multiple stalactites would be almost impossible and would require much, much more dirt. Haha. I used up around twelve stacks of dirt, if I'm not mistaken, on that one island. And if anyone went looking around the natural world in my save file, you'll notice I don't like changing it too much, so it'll take a while to get some dirt back. Haha. I'll experiment with the stalactite thing, though!

Ooh, Skyward Sword. That game in particular is an influence for me in Merris, believe it or not. Primarily Skyloft and the market area with all the bright, festive colors. (didn't finish it yet so no spoilers please! I'm currently battling the Imprisoned the third or fourth time....gah I hate that thing)

Can't wait to see more islands! The ideas supermelon and Zyrandar suggested sound awesome, but really big. I like the idea of small themed islands better. Plus it'll be easier on you, and it'll still look great.

I can kinda see that now. It all makes sense; the bright colors, marketplace. Huh. Now all you need is a ginormous statue of the goddess. Haha. And I haven't finished the game yet, either. I'm further back than you, actually, because I think the last time I played, I had just beaten the Imprisoned the first time. Now that I know you have to battle it more than once, I might just not play it again. Haha.

I really wish there was such thing as a dirt generator. Haha. I'm thinking that unless I can find vast quantities of dirt in one place, I might have to build small islands, anyways. One super big island way up high would be awesome, though... Maybe one day. Haha. And thanks!

Super small off-topic update!

WorldPainter is my new toy, courtesy Zyrandar. I found the void tool. =)

Ohhh in requesting no spoilers for SS, I kind of posted spoilers for you! I just assumed you would have beaten it and I was the slow one. xD I'm sorry! The Imprisoned sucks but everything else in the game makes up for it. I promise.

Well, I suppose if you can find a hilly area you want to flatten, that could supply you with a lot of dirt. Though once you start exposing stone, it'll look weird. Nothing you can do about it, Gilbert. Being creative in survival takes a lot of work. XD

And what the heck did you do?! I'm assuming the void tool puts random holes down to void? Unless that's water down there, but I'm gonna go with my first guess. If you ever make an adventure map, I do not want to play it. I'd fall through the world constantly!

Hahaha. It's okay that you completely spoiled all of Skyward Sword for me. =P Haha. Just kidding, of course. All you said was I have to beat the Imprisoned a few more times. No biggie. Haha.

*Sigh. Maybe I can harvest some dirt from the plains just beyond the taiga. I never go there anyways. Haha.

Extreme parkour! Void holes everywhere! Hahaha.

So here's the outcome of my awesome tree farm.

2012-06-24_154725.png

I think I'm going to keep doing this. Not only does it look humorous to begin with, but it looks pretty sweet in the end. Haha.

Just a small suggestion- Add a roof, maybe 7 blocks above the saplings, so that you don't get the huge trees.

Lol what the heck? That looks so odd! Yeah you might want to do what Wartower suggests. I didn't and I had some extra branches to climb up to and remove.

Yes, good suggestion with the roof. I'm just concerned on how I would go about doing that without making my house look poopy. (Don't say anything about it already looking poopy. =P Hahaha.)

Oh, and I previously removed the leaves, if that's what makes it look odd. Haha.

Anywho, I suppose I could put a third story on my house with a really big overhang or something. Pretty sure I have plenty of cobble. =P

What about glass? It might be a bit weird but maybe not so noticeable. I would say poo to cobble but it looks nice in Wartower's TP at least.

I don't know, I actually like Cobblestone in default.

Yeah, me too. The cobble looks real nice for small builds like this, to me, in default. But for big castles and such, maybe not so much.

But anywayss, never mind, now. Haha. I think I have something planned out that doesn't require me to build a third floor and does incorporate glass as well as cobble.

I'm fine with cobble too. It works great in addition to other textures, but I don't like the look of huge cobble walls, like with castles.

I just thought it would look weird to have a cobble roof hanging over trees when the rest of the houses are wood. That's all. :P

The wooden houses are 500 blocks away (literally), silly. Haha. The weird tree farm's at my main house. I probably should've specified when I posted the pic.

Update!

Decided to go mining to see if I couldn't get my mind off of some stuff. Opted for a new technique; branch mining!... well, it's new for me. =P

2012-06-25_200756.png

After about ten seconds, I found some diamonds. What luck! There happened to be six in this one vein. Pretty sure that's the most in one vein I've found in this world, so far.

2012-06-25_201105.png

Maybe I should've started mining a little higher. Oh well. Hahaha.

2012-06-25_201622.png

Considering the smalll amount of cobble I ended up with, I thought this was a pretty good haul. I'm going to have to start using branch mining more often. =)

I know, right?? And I spent a few more hours in the mine (lost track of time fairly well, I guess would be the appropriate way of saying it, haha) and got bunches and bunches more diamonds.

2012-06-26_004856.png

And now I have a diamond helmet. =] Gonna spend some time with the grinder to see if I can't get something awesome on this beast, like Bane of Arthropods VII.
