Guess I'll get the ball rolling on this!

First of all = It's a 7z file - sorry about that, I just don't like winzip :/

However 7z is free to download, easy to install and only takes a moment.

Be aware - it's 115 MB in size. And that's the compressed size! I think, uncompressed it's 194MB :)

Anyhoo - un-archive the folder and inside you'll find two things:

One) A README

TWO) A folder marked "Alan's World" - that's the actual Save file so use that or you may have problems :)

Hope you enjoy exploring :)

Here's my world.

Not going to put signs, but here's a walkthrough (kind of).

You should spawn at the bottom of my new hole/tower/thing.
Walk up the stairs until you see an exit, and use the exit (it might be raining, sorry!).
Area I: New area. I've got animal pens, and this small wheat farm. Nothing special. Walk on the wooden path to the sandstone tower.

Area II: Sandstone Tower. Follow the torches to the tower.

Area III: Farm area. Use the bridge to get over there. Small area, just a vine farm, pumpkin farm, chicken-in-a-hole, wheat farm, and sheep on the second floor. Go down the stairs next to the bed.

Area IV: Furnaces. Nothing Special. Go down the spiral staircase.

Area V: Storage Chests. Also, nothing special. Down the stairs we go!

Area VI: Enchanting Room. With chickens.

Area VII: Mine. Use the waterfall next to the enchanting room to jump off into the water. Swim off to the mine.

Area IIX: Old House. Swim from the mine to the house, then go over that little dark area to get to the reed lake and cow pen.

Area IX (Optional): In the nearby desert are my sand mines.

Area X: Nether Portal. Go back up that waterfall (or the ladder). the portal is the last balcony. Through the portal we go.

Area XI: Mine. One side of the portal has a bridge. That will take you to a portal to a desert mine.

Area XII: Nether tunnel. On the other side of the portal, you can see my Ghast battlefield, and a hole in the wall. Follow the hole until you get to the tunnel. Go through the tunnel. At the end you've got stairs and a portal. Stairs take you to natural terrain, Portal takes you to the Village.

Area XIII: Village. You can see the empty village, the villager breeding complex (with the weird box on top, ignore it), a snow box and the original villager holding facility. You can also see the zombie spawner killing machine. Go through one of the holes in the ground to continue.

Area XIV: Zombie Spawners. Furnaces, melons, enchanting room, chests and a huge cave complex. You can also go through one of the hallways, and there's a mossy cobblestone block. This is where I stand to spawn mobs.

Thats all! I would show off the stronghold, but I can only get there with coordinates, so no can do.

Have fun!

Here's my world.

I've never uploaded or compressed folders or anything before so hope I did it correctly. I left my character in a spot with certain items as a joke towards Gilbert so be careful XD.

Can't wait to explore your worlds, guys!

Edit: I posted this before reading your posts in depth. @Zyrandar I use WinRar so I don't need to install 7zip, though I would have had no problems doing that if WinRar didn't work.

@Wartower I'm really excited to see your sandstone tower in person! It's what lured me to the AMCWAS project in the first place. :D

Hey guys - I've just been messing around in my world and I've found something odd: The Redstone for the "secret door" ((NOTE 8)) doesn't work correctly and I've no clue why :/ It *should* work fine but something has gone wrong somewhere. If you have problems too - please let me know and I'll fix it and re-upload my world. Many thanks in advance :)

EDIT = nvm - seems to work okay now :/

I just finished my little tour of Wartower's world, and am going to start on yours next, Zyrandar. I will let you know if there is an issue with your secret door. (EDIT: Oh, okay so it's working now. That's good, less work for you!)

My tour of Wartower's World was...eventful. Well, everything was fine until I visited the sandstone tower. Pictures don't do it justice. From a distance, shrouded in cloud, it looks so ethereal and imposing! I didn't catch in the screenshots that you used smooth standstone. The resources required for this thing...I cant' imagine! It's beautiful though.

(I hope you don't mind me posting screenshots...I will take them down if it's not okay)

Climbing up the winding staircase was all fine and dandy, but once I reached the top, I couldn't reisist the temptation to hop on the blocks and look down at the world. I stood on a fence post and sprint jumped towards the outer wall and...whoopsy! I missed. XD

2012-06-20_063836.png
Blocking did nothing. :(

So, I felt bad for dieing and thought it was only honorable to go and retrieve the stuff I dropped. On the way I picked up a bunch of eggs and threw them everywhere. A chicken is roaming the stairs to the farm and tower now.

I got everything but somehow missed the sword. I think it was a bane of arthropods sword so no biggie XD.

After I got back on track, I paused to make a jukebox and play my favorite music disk: mellohi. Really jelly that you have that, man.

I continued exploring. Caught a glimpse of the Ghast battlefield, which was, of course, full of holes and set aflame. One of the foul things was taking a bath in the lava lake so I let it be.

Left the Nether and entered the Village. I had fun running through all the doors. A farmer got in my way and gave me this stern look like he expected better of me. Feeling foolish, I went on to check out the zombie grinder. Really cool. I went down below and a Creeper followed me in. It blew up some stuff, including part of the wall for the zombe spawning area, so I repaired that.

Went back up and got a few levels for kicks. I enjoyed crushing the zombie's heads. :3

I didn't end up visiting the mines. After the Creeper incident I was afraid to mess up anything else, even though I'm not messing up the world you're playing on, it just feels wrong.

Great that you had fun! I just played TF2 for a few hours, but I'm off to tour Zy's world, and then yours.

Yeah, that sword is just temporary (Drink!) until I can enchant my diamond one.

Hoo boy! Have I had some fun exploring your worlds!!

@wartower - Epic Tower dude! EPIC! Climbed all the way up, but didn't take daydrifter's "quick way down" lol JK miss daydrifter, just having some fun :P Liked the balconies wrapping around the mt and the Village was quirky but fun :) Some advice (if you don't mind?) - Build some pavements going from one location to another :) Otherwise - great stuff dude :)

@daydrifter - WOW! Absolutely loved your building style -- your screenshots definitely don't do it justice - Merris was fantastic! I think I need a new Keyboard and/or Mouse though - couldn't make the "sprint jump" to the Portal Fountain thingy :( Also - there are so many resources still left to gather in that ravine etc; my hands kept twitching - wanted to mine them all :) haha!! Well miss - you have my undying admiration; One of the best worlds I've seen for a while - the use of colour throughout is just amazing :) Really enjoyed it :)

@Zyrandar- Dude, that's freaking huge! If you continue working on this world, definitely make an enderman farm in the End. Man, this is just awesome. Great Job man. Love everything.

@daydrifter- Whoa, Merris is awesome. Really, Really, Really awesome. I like the use of colors along with the stone bricks.

@t_gilbert- You Troll... Lol! Nice job man. It all looks really great. That bridge is epic. Can I suggest speed potions and/or a portal? I love the fact that it transisions between biomes and areas. Really great!

@t_gilbert - awesome world bro :) Seeing that Uber bridge in screenshots or on YouTube is one thing ... actually being on it "in person" so to speak is another thing! Truly great bridge - as wartower said - the way it transitions through biomes and flows with the river is amazing. And those houses at the end on the Ice Lake are brilliant! One thing about the bridge - i was fully expecting that extra steep bit to end at a diving board or something... followed the dirt ledge... threw myself off it for a laugh! Yeah. I died! haha! Also ... the random dirt blocks in the Nether - were they supposed to go somewhere.. or just random stuff?

I'm so glad you guys are enjoying Merris! It really is so much better being on another save in person instead of just looking at pictures or watching video. It just doesn't capture the feel of the atmosphere...

The jump into the fountain portal is tricky, I miss it sometimes. I thought about building stairs up to it but I like the look too much. Aesthetics over practicality, it's inconvenient but sometimes you have to sacrifice something for art.

I jumped off Wartower's tower LIKE A BAWS, as people are wont to say.

So here is some of my account of the tour of Zyrandar's world.

I liked starting out with nothing and having to equip from items in the chest. Like an adventure map! I took everything just in case. Even the pumpkin. XD
In Derpville I witnessed a lot of PDA but no actual babies. I accidentally struck an Iron Golem, which cut my village visit short. I high tailed it out of there. Made sure to close the gravel gate first.
Returned to where the rail terminus was and took the rail down. I like the tunnel, colored wool everywhere!

I spent some time in the underground base. I remember seeing pictures of it and it's kind of neat to be here. I killed the two giant slimes flopping around in the slime farm area, then let loose the only chicken in the chicken coop so yeah, your nice and neat OCD base now has a free range chicken.
2012-06-20_085920.png

I visited the mooshrooms too and stupidly tried to shear one. I knew the shears were a bad idea! XD Then I tried to milk one with a bucket before I recalled that I need a bowl, duh.
2012-06-20_090356.png
I love that you have the sheep in minecarts for the cute factor. I thought they were to hold them in place. I sheared them all because hey, why not?

Oh my, the potion room. It looks great! I love the mix of different plank colors, iron and blue wool you got going on. Very nice combination! You even made the Gantry access pretty. I never thought potion brewing would be fun. Made some fire resistance potion, mmmm, my favorite.

The minecart tunnel is amazing! The desert realm is my favorite. The sandstone and pine trees realm made me think of a Vechs map. I half expected to fall in lava after seeing that section.

I think I should pause my tour here, though. I've been up all night and starting to feel delirious. After I get some shut eye, I'll resume the tour, then take a gander at Gilbert's.

@daydrifter - I'm glad you enjoyed touring my base :D The "desert realm" is my personal favourite part of the minecart tunnel too. And yeah, my base is a little OCD :D haha! i like things to be orderly I guess :/
Has anyone had any problems with the "secret door" ((NOTE 8)) or is it working fine - sorry to keep harping on about it, but it's been bugging me ever since it failed to work earlier :(

Oh, Zyrandar. I love your world so much. It's like a playground. Haha. And I fell down into the ravine, of course, so when I got to one of the later notes that required me to open that secret passage, I had to break some reeds. Haha. Everything worked great! Except the elevator... I didn't read the note... Haha. All the pistons are stuck in the on position, which I find incredibly funny. That super long minecart track was really, really cool, too. I loved the pyramid!

Thanks, man! I can't believe you jumped off the dirt walkway. Hahahaha. I was thinking about putting a skydiving point up there when it's all done with a nice pool for landing. May take a few deaths to get it right. =P Haha.

Wartower, that is the coolest pumpkin farm I've ever seen! Really awesome! And that sandstone tower is amazing, as well. Absolutely loved it. It's pretty obvious it took you forever and a half to gather all the resources and complete it. Nice build! And I like your cow pen ladder idea. I'm gonna steal that, if you don't mind. =P Haha.

And thanks! Since I don't go to my main base much anymore, I don't think I'll need any sort of potion or portal. Besides, I like the walk. It's very scenic. =] I'll be sure to put something in for you next time, though. Haha.

Fix'd. =P

2012-06-20_162200.png

wot?

Hahaha. Really, really, really awesome world! Have you ever thought of doing story or adventure maps or anything? All of Merris was very well constructed and detailed.

Just woke up and it's hot as the Nether in here. Ugh. Will resume my tour of the worlds shortly, but must nab a bite to eat and a cool drink first.

@Gilbert Fix'd, ha. I really like the look of it in Wartower's texture pack. Huh. The mushroom looks nice, too. Without mycelium, the only way to grow giant mushrooms is to have it dark enough, and have a roof over it. Or underground. I plan to have a little mushroom shop so was experimenting with shrooms out there. I didn't think anyone would venture out that far, so I didn't explain it. XD Making an adventure or story map would be a lot of fun. I do want to do something like that in the future at some point, but I feel I need to improve my building technique much more and well, build more! I have been thinking of doing something sort of like those story posts people do on the MC Forums, but focus more on story and less on "King Whats-his-face needed a place to house his men, so they built an Inn." Not that there's anything wrong with those. I do enjoy them. :)

---

Continuing on my tour of Zyrandar's world, I found the DRoPaAD and after planting water all willy nilly and looking around, I made my way back up to the minecart tunnel, then jumped to my death. I landed on the makeshift infinite water source I made for all the water, even though I brought tons of buckets. :D

I spawned in the bedroom to see that apparently Zyrandar is so good at the game, he can get cats to lay eggs.

2012-06-20_195629.png
I couldn't be bothered to go get my stuff back, but I did feel bad for losing all that diamond, so I grabbed leather armor and a gold sword from storage, along with some cobble and steak. I tried out the secret door. It works fine. :) Took a look at the slime spawning pads.

Went to the Nether and looked at a completed, fully functioning and efficient blaze xp grinder. Tried it out but I didn't touch the potions. I killed a zombie pigman before jumping on my railcart, just for the lulz. The rail line is neat with all that fencing. Will definitely be using the half slab idea over the track in my own world.

Final thoughts: I love all the work you've put into  your world. It looks great and was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what you do with the new Harmony when 1.3 arrives. :)

@daydrifter - I've been thinking of making an adventure map too - I might even try "World Painter" and/or "Voxel Sniper" and literally build my world from the ground up. i.e. Shape my world to fit the story rather than making the story fit the land. Not sure if that made sense :P As for "Improving" your building technique; I'm not sure that's possible - I think you're rather good at it already :) haha! those "King what's-his-face" stories kinda bug me a little - first of all; there are so many of them; Secondly - if the person writing the story really is a King, then where ARE his subjects! heehee - I think I would much rather right a story that made more sense.

Where did that egg come from?!?! lol :P Oh wait - the chicken you let lose from your previous post!!! haha!!

I'm really glad you enjoyed my world - I put a lot of effort into it. There's a lot of stuff - left unfinished; But I'm just waiting for 1.3 so I can re-start "Harmony" = And if you thought my old world was epic; the plans I have in store for Harmony will make my old world look small and insignificant.
here's a picture of my first "Harmony" ((AMCWAS)) world =

kbrEH.jpg

At this point I had "jump stacked" all the way to maximum height level ((*gulp*)) as it was the only way I could fit the sheer size of my base into the screen. As you can see I had made my base Octagonal in shape; it's approximately 240 blocks from north to south and 240 blocks from east to west. Rather bigger than my old world :) And I intend to recreate this :) Although I might try and find an alternative location next time as I'm rather too familiar with this lcation; but we'll see.

@wartower = How often are we going to upload our worlds? Every month? Every quarter? Every year? I was thinking bi-monthly would be great. What do you think?

VoxelSniper=Never tried it, since its a bukkit (server) plugin.

bi-monthly as in every two months? Sounds good.

Still getting to grips with WorldPainter.

Aye, I know VoxelSniper is server - 'tis easy to create a server on your own PC and easy to make a SMP world into a SSP world and vice versa.

Yeah - bi-monthly is every two months; should give everyone enough time to add lot's of things to their worlds :)

Just to let you know that I wont be adding anything to my Old World; or at least I have no plans to add anything. I'm just waiting for 1.3 :)

Oh, thats an interesting way to do a server. Very, very interesting.

Worldpainter is actually really helpful. I suggest using a mouse (not a touchpad). Its a hard thing to use, but after you understand it- it rocks.

WHOA. That's the hexagon base mentioned...Definitely cannot wait until 1.3!!!

I get what you're saying about wanting to build the world yourself. I've been wanting to play with WorldPainter, too. Minecraft terrain is nice but it is distinctly Minecraftian.

So, I should get a move on and post my tour of Gilbert's world.

I started off locked in a room filled with sheep, with wheat in my hand. Nice. Reeeeeaaaaal nice. I was tempted to murder all the sheeps but I held back. A spider was jeering at me through the window when I escaped the sheep filled doom chamber, so I broke the window and killed it. Replaced the pane with wood. Real classy look.

I looked around the house, then entered the Nether. I chucked the wheat into lava. Then I followed the dirt trail. It didn't seem to lead anywhere and I was feeling lazy, so I jumped to my death.

I spawned not in the house I started in, but in one of the houses on the ice lake. I explored those, which are very nice, especially in person...then went up the incline on the bridge to the dirt path thingy to nowhere. Nice terrain around. The jungle canopy below looked inviting, so I aimed for that. And I died.

After respawning again, I jumped down on the ice and derped around sprinting and jumping. Wow you move fast on ice! Saw a ravine which also looked...inviting...and died yet again. :P

Okay I need to stop doing that.

I went back up onto the bridge and walked all the way across it. Love this bridge! It does seem surreal in the middle where you can't see where it ends. it looks like it's floating. Neat!

My next stop was the graveyard. I intended to end the tour here. I dug my own grave and buried myself alive. I died by suffocation (sand).

2012-06-20_230159.png

It was meant to be a fitting end for the tour, but after I rose from the dead, I realized there was one last thing I wanted to do...
2012-06-20_230755.png

Ice fishing!

I enjoyed touring your world, Gilbert. Looking forward to new um, developments. XD

I've just had an idea - let me run it by you guys and see what you think: Turn my current 100% legit Survival non-AMCWAS Old World into a Creative world and just build lot's of stuff. That way I can concentrate better on aesthetics, and not worry about dying or gathering resources. It's cheating I know ((which I hate doing BTW)) but I think I might be able to make better improvements and bigger projects whilst waiting for 1.3 = what do you guys think?

I say go for it. I don't consider it cheating at all. You put in a lot of hard work into that world and it would be a shame for it to be forgotten. I think it would be cheating if you claim your Creative made things were done legit. Enjoy the game any way you wish. :)

daydrifter, Y U KEEP DYING??? Hahaha. I'm totally putting that grave in the graveyard.

Zyrandar, you died, too, right?

Wartower, did you die in my world? I must know. Haha.

A world upload every two months sounds great!

Oh! And about those random pieces of dirt that Zyrandar asked about and daydrifter died from following. They were just markers to help me find the portal again. Dirt's so cheap and not naturally in the Nether, so it was either that or cobbestone, but you have to mine cobble to get it back. =P Haha.

Zyrandar, you should definitely start doing the creative world thing with that. It has amazing potential!
