I love the use of iron bars! You never really see those in builds nowadays; at least, not as a main component. Very nice, bro! And it still amazes me that you can build spirals. Haha.
Spirals are really, really annoying. I tried a staircase in the middle of the hole at the beginning, but it really sucked. I would fall off 90% of the time. This is much better.
In other news, I've made a building plan for this base. It's gonna be epic.
The anticipation, it's too much! How do you go about making a building plan? Is it something drawn up on graph paper? On something like Gimp or Photoshop or...?
i think wartower makes it up as he goes along :P haha! Actually I scribble all my designs on paper first - if I ever get my scanner to work again, I'll upload some pics :)
Ohhh I see. I do that, too. I wrote down what rooms I want in my schoolhouse and townhall, as well as a list of shops I want to include in the town square.
I sketch a bit but half the time what I sketch looks nothing like what I end up building. The giant tree was a drawing. You may have been able to tell that it doesn't look that great from every angle, because I was drawing it in 2D and just kind of winging it.
-Lots of digging out areas. -Lots of chickens, and an epic (well, kind of) redstone signal that tells me when they have laid eggs. -More food than I can handle (finally).
In non-SP news: -I think I'm gonna try out the Ultra Hardcore mod at some point soon. -t_gilbert: Work on the TP has continued. Armor is done, as are almost all the tools.
Ultra Hardcore is .. well .. very hard!! Hardcore is bad enough, but to play the game with additional things like having to craft golden apples etc... yikes!
Redstone signal to tell you when chickens have laid eggs? Does it use pressure plates?
I would presume so, as that's the only way I can think of. Would have to be wooden pressure plates though as they're more ... sensitive than Stone pressure plates.
@gilbert- I hope to finish the tools today, and I'll send you an updated .zip file. Yeah, the farm works like this: Chickens float in water that is suspended by signs. Chickens drop eggs, which fall through the signs, and into a water stream that brings them to a wooden PP. The wooden PP inverts a redstone torch, that inverts the torch above and so on, until it gets to the surface (only a few blocks), and turns on a redstone torch. That way I know that if the torch is on, there are eggs to collect, and if it isn't on- there aren't any eggs. Pretty useful.
Just got the TP and it looks amazing, bro! Very nice job!
The way I pictured the redstone and the way you described it were pretty different. I just pictured the pressure plate turning on a redstone signal that you have behind some glass or something so you know if it's lit-up, eggs are ready. But your way is not only much cooler, but would look a lot better. Haha.
I've had to change the farm setup a bit... Now they're just in a single block of water. Mobs swimming in water make lag, and I was getting weird spikes. Hopefully I've fixed it.
