I just watched the second episode of captainsparklez last night, and it's hilarious. Haha. And it does look like a lot of fun! I'm hoping when me and my buds actually get around to testing the LAN, it'll be smooth and we can play around on it.
Ooooh, was it the bigfoot in Vietnam?? That episode was awesome! Course, I don't remember hair, and they found some crazy big footprints, and they heard some interesting noises. I've never seen a Harry Potter movie or read any of the books. All I know is Snape killed Dumbledore. Haha.
Update!
Spoiler
So this was where my snow golem farm was... I accidentally dug out the dirt from beneath him... He fell... Hahaha.
Spoiler
And I think I got enough snow, so I'm just letting this one run around my tree farm island. It's happy.
Spoiler
Then I finally got around to replacing those regular wooden stairs with the spruce wood. ^_^
Spoiler
So with the new texture pack, I definitely need to turn on Smooth Biomes. Oh, and snow golems have TVs for heads. =]
Yeahhhh. Hahaha. But now I'm just using default whilst making the adventure map. It seems to be running a lot faster with just default; I guess because it doesn't need to go into the texture pack file, but I dunno. Haha.
I have sort of an update!
Decided on a theme and map and all that stuff for the adventure map. And after a few hours of work, I finally have the rules done. I like write-able books. ^_^
Obligatory pillars over water. These first few obstacles are really easy because parkour maps that just drop you in sprinting and jumping four blocks over lava whilst dodging skeleton arrows aren't cool. Mine is gonna be cool.
Spoiler
And chests scattered about the map! I think that particular one has a diamond sword, some arrows, and a compass. Maybe a bow, too.
I hope to have ten or fifteen obstacles when I finish; those are the only two, for now. Haha. So there's still a lot of work to be done. And the story's turning into a make-it-up-as-I-go thing. I got the main plot down, it's just the specifics I need to refine.
And I'm actually going to build something in this map that I was planning on building in the AMCWAS world. Depending on how it turns out, I might still build it. In the sky, of course. ^_^
Oh nice building! I love the broke down bridge. Ruined structures are always a nice touch. Ah I don't mind about the walls, Gilbert. I took inspiration for that from another person's design anyways.
Right, the beacons. lol I forgot to mention those in the 1.3 thread. I'm not a fan of those but I think stuff like that would be useful in a super hostile type map. Seems a bit silly for regular ol' vanilla survival.
Oooh, thanks! It's a small theme on the map, the ruined structures. Speaking of which, I've been meaning to do more with that theme. Haha. Good thing I reminded myself.
Yeah, the concepts of the pyramids could be a bit much for vanilla, but they make good landmarkers for people who don't wanna download Rei's. Haha.
Yep, landmarks. Haha. Kinda expensive, but realll noticeable.
Played LAN yesterday with one of my buds and it was pretty cool. There're definitely bugs to be worked out in terms of actually getting connected with the world, but once in the world, it ran extremely smooth and neither of us had much lag at all (no more than normal, at least. Haha.)
No progress on the AMCWAS world. Little progress on the adventure/parkour map. We have an event going on in the Rage again, so that's why I've been absent. Haha. Should be back to my old ways tomorrow.
Hurricane hitting us on Tuesday and should still over us on Wednesday, so I doubt I'll be able to update then, or even get on any sort of interweb related thingy.
And school starts back tomorrow! So that means Minecraft vids are about to start back up!
Meh, Isaac was definitely blown way out proportion by TWC. Worst hurricane I've ever been in. Haha. And the funny thing is, all the schools near here were closed (except one; we'll get to that) and church is cancelled tonight. I think all the Floridians were reminded why we plan for hurricane parties, not hurricanes. Haha.
But yeah, the school. So the superintendent down here is probably the worst ever, and many people thought she was absolutely insane for not cancelling school yesterday; I mean, she's really disliked. Well, we got no rain yesterday. None. Not even bad winds. So all the schools that were cancelled are probably kicking themselves whilst our superintendent has some "I told you so"s in order.
Can't get the audio to work properly with the Minecraft vids and recording software. Wanted to do a LAN multiplayer series with one of my buds, but it looks like we're going to need three microphones total for it: one each for me and him, and another for my speakers. Which we have all that, it's just an awkward set-up. Course, I could use a USB mic and have a patch cord going straight from the headphone jack to mic jack on my laptop, but the USB mic needs a stand. But I wonder if I could work it so the USB could pick both me and my bud up and use a patch cord between the HP and mic jacks. It would produce more static due to the sensitivity needing to be turned way up, though. I could get rid of that with Audacity. So many things to consider!
I'd love to see one, too! Haha. Me and a few my buds might start a multiplayer LAN survival LP thing one day. We discussed it yesterday, but I don't know if we're going to follow through with it or not. If not, it would be less work for me. ^_^
Update! Well, sorta...
Spoiler
Flubbaman joined AMCWAS a few days ago, but hasn't posted anything, yet. *Taps foot. One of my irl buds, so I can get impatient with him. Haha.
We played around with the LAN multiplayer yesterday. We were going to work on the parkour map... Yeah, we didn't get to it. Hahaha.
Spoiler
And this is him swimming in lava.
Spoiler
And we fought the Enderdragon! In Creative mode... with endless snowballs... and a diamond sword... But we did fight it! =D
Think I'll put the map on hold for awhile until I get creative ideas for obstacles. Until then, it's AMCWAS and working on possibilities of recordings! And RoB. And school. And job hunting. But yeah! Haha.
Just played around with Minecraft on my Unix/Ubuntu OS and I must say that it's pretty awesome! Way faster load rate than Windows. Can have it on Far with very little lag. Might see if I can download OptiFine for it and get Far with Fancy textures. =]
Well Tanner, you may stop tapping your foot, for I am now posting. I don't really know what to post so i'll just put in this emoticon that is smiling at me.
Hope people are still somewhat active in their Minecraft worlds!
I got finals coming up for the next two weeks, but after that *drum roll* Christmas break! And of course, what I hope to be an easier semester in the spring. Hopefully, that means a nine-month span of LPs being produced and Minecrafting being done. Fingers are only crossed at this point, though.
