Good to see you got this worked out. No need to start a new thread, I'll just remove some of the posts, and once you've got everything really, really worked out, I'll just take out the whole chunk of posts.

Looks cool in the meantime! Try using F2 in-game to take screenshots. To make the pictures larger, upload them to a site like photobucket or imgur, and link them from there.
Macs seem to be more confusing when it comes to Minecraft. I don't understand why. I think Notch is a Mac user.
Anyway, I hope I will be able to help you. Don't know if different OS versions effect it but just in case, my Mac is version 10.5.8 aka Leopard.
To take a screenshot, simply press fn+F2. I think you know that already but I had to be sure it works. It does! :)
To find your Minecraft folder:
Up at the top you will see a menu bar. The left most icon is the Mac apple. Make sure you click somewhere on your desktop background. To the right of the apple it should say Finder. To the right of that, it says File Edit View History etc...
Go to File > New Finder Window > Library > Application Support > minecraft
Double Click on Minecraft and you will find several folders. Saves is where your worlds are stored. Screenshots is where your well, screenshots are! Yay!
I like to use Photobucket for my pictures. In order to upload multiple files at once, hold down command and click all the ones you want. (it's ctrl for Windows) To post an image here, either right click on the image and select 'copy image location' or you can left click on 'Direct link' (located to the right on Photobucket, not sure of other places like imgur).
Now that you have the link for the image, you can either do what Wartower suggests (typing the code) or you can go to the advanced editor and you will see an icon with a tree on it. It's the 'insert/edit image' button, and when you click on it, you can then paste your link in there.
If you still don't quite get it, have some pictures (click spoiler to reveal):

So I hope that helped!

I'll wait until your first major update, than remove anything not important (don't worry, I'll back it ll up so that if I make a mistake, I can fix it).
Hm, a Mac user, eh? Lemme go test screenshots on my brother's Mac, see if I can help you with pictures. I feel like I'm spying on you when I can see your whole screen lol!

Nice! Thanks a lot day drifter! I apreciate the help. I will try it out for the next update but for now i will just show my update thats sorta major. Oh and wartower, dont delete day drifters tutorial! thanks! Ok, and here is the update:
Well, i did some mining but as you can see i have a food shortage! Any of you guys have tips on getting food? lol.....
This is my entire room! I couldnt get a lot of seeds so its a very small wheat farm. Lol all you guys are making towns and enchanting stuff to lvl 50 and im.... living in a hole in the ground! lol ^_^
And heres a close up of my mine, and farm. :P I just got to diamond level and hit lava.
OK SO, this was gonna be a tower/lighthouse, now it looks like a aztec pyramid! LOL, :D i think its gonna be that/house. IDK what do you guys think?
@daydrifter - Might not be a bad idea to copy that tutorial and put it in a thread on the New Members subforum to make it a sticky. If you want to, of course. Haha.
@doggyluvuh - You already have iron?? Holy mess. Haha. I didn't have any iron until like a week or two into my world.
For food, I just build a big wheat farm. Haha. Ummm, have you tried cutting down a bunch of trees for apples?
Hurray for hidie holes! ^_^
*Shrug. It looks like the Aztec pyramid could still be made into a lighthouse fairly easily, but Aztec pyramids are awesome. So idk, either. Hahaha.
Pigs and Cows are your friends. Put them in a pit and breed them. Or eat bread. And kill skeletons.
And don't worry, we've already played this world for a couple of months. We all had hidey-holes and no food at the beginning. Actually, I didn't have a hidey-hole at the beginning. I had the top of a mountain.
Hey guys! I found a great website, for things in your base lol i randomly searched mc houses and i found this! lolz :D so check this link out its cool!
Thanks for the advice wartower and gilbert! Wartower9: I have looked for pigs and cows, i cant find any! i can only find sheep! JUST FRICKIN SHEEP GOD DAMN IT MAN I CANT STAND IT!!!!! jk lol :P But yeah thanks for the reasurance, i was getting frustrated about it. :o lol....
Gilbert: Yeah i cant find any seeds :P lol, i think ill do the other thing you said and just cut a bunch of trees down. And yeah im not sure, about what it will be i think ill call it my tower/home and move into it... :D
Next update is comming soon you guys!!!! (Its right after my massive amounts of mining :P)
I'll be sure to make a topic for the tutorial. No probs.
Yeah don't worry about the state you're in at the moment doggyluvuh. I joined after the project officially started so I felt like I was really far behind, too. It takes a little time to get established, but you'll get there.
I like the idea of an Aztec type pyramid deal better than a tower but it's up to you. It might be a good idea to have a way up to the roof (either inside or outside) so you can snipe monsters. For rooms inside...hm...a potions brewery, an enchanting room/library, a garden, maybe an animal when you're able to gather all those resources of course. Nether portal room. For the inside, how about magenta wool and oak logs? Lol no, but um, if you do keep to the pyramid theme, sticking with stone materials would probably work better than wood. Maybe some sandstone too, so it's not all shades of grays. It's really up to you and your personal taste.
Weird that you can't find any animals. I hope you're able to, soon. Zombie flesh is a cheap alternative to real food if you're desperate and Gilbert's suggestion with the apples works too, especially if you cut down one of those big trees with all the branches. Sure it takes more work to do but you're guaranteed to get some apples out of it, as well as a bunch of saplings and wood.
Also, thanks for all the advice on my base in progress! I will have a nether portal room, but i think the potions and the nether portal could be in the same room? By the time im done with my base it wont look like this tower lol! Cause its gonna need a lot more rooms :D xP Yeah and atm i have a feeling my base will look ugly XD lol,So when im done with it i may change the block coloring, but i will need to any way with the glass needed for a greenhouse. Soooo, ill need to combine some rooms and somehow expand my base, lol....
Isnt it weird? i mean like i find sheep but thats it.... So, yeah i was planning once i get some actual armor go monster hunting! But mostly i think i might do the tree sugestion :P
As far as your base of operations goes, a bedroom in the top floor would be awesome. That's the only suggestion I could think of. Haha.
I didn't have anything but sheep and wolves when I first started my world, so don't feel bad about not having any other animals. Haha. I finally found some other stuff across a big desert biome.
The bunker in the Planet Minecraft link would be really cool to do! I remember seeing ChimneySwift11 building some sort of bunker, I think, and it was pretty cool. And of course, a graveyard is practically a must-have. Haha.
Yeah, im not sure i think my bedroom will be on my second floor so its easier to get too. Im actually starting construction for the rooms so im not sure lol...
A bunker, hmmmm well the top floor could act as a bunker because its so high up. And yeah lol a grave yard is a must have =P
A bunker on the very top floor would be pretty cool. Maybe have some sort of crazy piston device that closes up all the entrances once you get it. It would be awesome!
I suppose a bedroom that's easy to get to is ideal. Haha.
Yeah i am almost finished with the base however its kinda empty when i post it, i hope you guys can give advice on how to make it more homey b4 i start my next project, a huge farm, and once that is done, im starting a village =P
